Welcomed by few monkeys hanging on the pole along the way while we were driving a long and narrow kampung road. It is indeed far away from bustling city, yet its just opposite Singapore! The fisherman village, called Kampung Pendas in a remote part of Gelang Patah and it is located just near the mouth of Sungai Pedas, off Tanjung Kupang. The unspoiled nature including mangrove swamps is the great feature of Pendas Jetty.
The fish market near the jetty, selling fisherman’s catch of the day so the freshness is guranteed. Not only that but there are 2 local restaurants there serving lunch & dinner. They must have a good business on weekends. Anyway, I got more reasons to come back!!

細く曲がりくねったカンポンロード（夜は真っ暗だろうな）、途中で猿の群れが電柱を綱渡りしているのを発見。。。これもカンポン生活の一部でしょうか。家々に植えられている高〜く伸びたココヤシがとても印象的。ここはTuasの橋からほど近いペンダスの船着場。反対の岸にはシンガポールが直ぐそこに見える。シンガポールの携帯さへオートローミングで使用可能！すぐ近くではその日収穫された魚も売っているらしく新鮮さは言うまでもありません。次回はそれを目当てに。。。
